Heesen released some more stuff of their 50m hybrid yacht project Nova.

The first yacht of this platform was launched as M/Y HOME

Nova was developed to be very efficient underway on the seven seas. Heesen promises a very low noise yacht for a high standard of comfortable cruising with electric engines. In the “Quiet Cruising Mode” she sails with 9 knots with her electric generators and the main generators. When the captain chooses the “Economic Cruising Mode”, she will use the MTU diesel engines. The main generators are off. The power for the systems comes from the electric generators. The “Boost Mode” will power her up to 16.5 knots with diesel engines and electric engines together.

The exterior design was made by Omega Architects together with Van Oossanen as the naval architect. The designers gave Nova a modern vertical bow, big windows, and an awesome fixed bathing platform as a nice entry in marinas and great times at anchor.

The yacht accommodates 10 guests in five cabins including VIP cabin on the lower deck. The owner’s suite is on the main deck located. The owner appointed Cristiano Gatto as the interior designer.

Nova Heesen Hybrid Yacht Interior

Cristiano Gatto comments:

“The owner asked us to modify color scheme, design details and overall decoration to give the interior a contemporary, almost minimalist design. We stepped in when the outfitting works were at an advanced stage, so we had to work with the existing structures. A two-tone palette has been chosen to give the interiors a bright and relaxing feel. The contrast between the pure white of fabrics, leather and lacquered surfaces and the warm hues of woods, create a sophisticated ambiance in all the rooms, bathrooms included. Hints of color brighten the scheme with deep red or burgundy decorative items, cushions and throws in both the exterior and interior areas to catch the eye and juice things up. The linearity of design is enriched by geometrical patterns, precious materials and meticulously designed details.”

Launch is scheduled for April 2017.
